“You've obviously discounted this but I've just bought a Samsung for 599 (down from 899) and 2 weeks in I think it's great, Samsung 3 year guarantee, integrates with smart things so it doesn't need another app, seems to clean my (very awkward) house really well. Got lost in all the Chinese brands, had a roomba and it was crap.”From thread: Best Robot Vacuum cleaner for under £700 in UK, research is killing me! ↗

“I have Samsung and very pleased. No issues in 15 years I hear alot like LG for reliability. I don't recall LG when we purchased these so never compared.”From thread: What brand is actually worth it? Washer and dryer ↗
“I did a lot of reading about all three of these and Samsung seems to be the best so far. Now there's not a ton to compare it to but of the big three here the drying performance seems the best. And even people that don't generally like Samsung like this combo best. (The YouTube channel Ben's appliances for example doesn't like Samsung in general but likes this combo unit.) I think it also depends on how you like to do laundry. I like to throw a load in before bed once a day so I'm not opposed to it taking longer to wash and dry. Others like to have a laundry marathon and do 7 loads in one day and get it over with. I think they tend to hate a combo unit. Just depends on your needs.”From thread: Anyone have long term experience with these all in one washer dryers? ↗

“We have two of the Samsung Bespoke AI All-in-One units (got two units so we can run two loads at once). Have had them both for 1.5 years with no issues. Both have received regular software updates, though I can’t tell if anything changed with these updates. The door automatically opening when the unit is done has to be a top feature. Also like the auto-dispense detergent storage feature and the app connectivity, providing a push notification when the unit is done. After owning an all-in-one heat pump system, I could never go back to a separate washer and dryer setup. It’s so convenient putting the wash in during lunch and then having them ready to go after work, all without having to intervene. These are the only Samsung appliances I currently own. I have owned a samsung induction range in the past, and based on the amount of issues I had with it, I’m not sure I would ever buy another Samsung kitchen appliance. However, very happy with these washer/dryer units, surprisingly (the GE unit is just too ugly to own and the LG had horrible reviews, which is why I went with Samsung). Let me know if you have any specific questions about this Samsung unit.”From thread: Anyone have long term experience with these all in one washer dryers? ↗
“I have the 120vac ge combo and I am not a big fan due to the way it gets clogged with lint. It’s disgusting. Watch videos on the lint issue. Also can’t run loads over night because it smells damp and half the times it has to be run a second dry cycle. Still cheaper than running the other one we got even if we have to run it a second dry cycle. You just have to be careful with how much you load it. My wife constantly puts too much in. We also have the 240vac Samsung combo and I love it. Especially the door popping open when it is done. Can do loads when going to bed and it doesn’t smell damp in the morning. We usually just use this one for comforters, towels, dog blankets/beds, anything on the bigger side. We use to have to flip our comforters inside out in the ge one and do like three dry cycles. If it weren’t for the lint issue we wouldn’t have bought the Samsung one. We had some issues with the ge and had to call out a service tech but it was about three weeks before they could come out and I could get the Samsung delivered in two days. I have to say it is awesome having two of these all in ones with a family and a dog. Feels like we are always running one of them. Just wish they made a 240vac heat pump one in the US and it had a better lint trap system than the GE.”From thread: Anyone have long term experience with these all in one washer dryers? ↗
“I've got two Samsung Bespoke appliances, including this washer/dryer, after looking into them on the internet. Seems like the Bespoke line of Samsung appliances are really good compared to any of their other appliances. I love this thing and I love their Bespoke 4 door fridge as well. Never any issues with either one but I've only had them for a year. The biggest complaint I hear from people (that don't even have one) is that it takes a long time to complete a load. It's never an issue to me because I just regularly do the laundry and schedule it to be done in the evening. The pedestal drawer is nice to have as well, makes unloading laundry into a basket more comfortable without bending over too much. This thing is huge though, so be aware of that in case your laundry room is tight.”From thread: Anyone have long term experience with these all in one washer dryers? ↗
“Same here. We have had 2 for a year and a half. We don’t even have use for a hamper anymore. Lights in one, darks in the other, everything is dry and clean in the morning. We are saving at least $50/month in just detergent alone. We used to buy a bottle weekly and now we go almost 2 months on 1.”From thread: Anyone have long term experience with these all in one washer dryers? ↗

“Just throwing out ideas - i remember something like the LG unit needing a few inches (4?) of clearance from the wall on each side for air flow. That may possibly affect drying performance. Not pretending to be an expert at all, I went with the samsung combo unit and remembered that detail since my space only allowed for 2 inches to the left and right. Hope you find the solution. I love the combo units and ventless technology.”From thread: LG “All-In-One” Washer-Dryer ↗
“We have the LG at a home in AZ. Perfect for 1-2 people & the heat pump works great. You have to understand that keeping the lint trap, and gusset around door impeccably clean at all times. Cotton items on ai come out initially feeling weirdly slightly damp from the heat pump drying, but are actually dry. Our technical clothes (workout, leggings) are perfectly dry. We also own the Samsung version (uses 240v & requires venting) in a humid northern home. Again, on ai it works great, and you have to be meticulous about cleaning the machine after every load. The only difference is the heat pump is better in arid, dry environments and the Samsung is better in the humid environment. If you have more than 1-2 people then you would need multiple machines. Love/obsessed with not “switching loads”, the efficiency with water & electricity. But people need to do their homework about these machines, understand their own household needs before buying either machine. Don’t buy either of these machines-If you are a lazy lint trap cleaner, usually overload a washing machine, don’t mind hanging around to switch loads, have a large household/renters, and have a gas line with vent to exterior, I would just buy a standard washer/dryer set.”From thread: LG “All-In-One” Washer-Dryer ↗
“Are your filters clean? I've got a Samsung like this and love it. But it's fussy about having filters cleaned every wash. Also run the self cleaning for the washer and dryer. Do smaller loads. I wash every 2nd day on the small load cycle and it takes 2 hours, and finish dry and warm.”From thread: LG “All-In-One” Washer-Dryer ↗
“The only time mine ever takes that long and it’s the Samsung version is when I’m washing blankets and sheets or if the machine is overloaded. If there’s an extra dry setting on yours you may want to try that.”From thread: LG “All-In-One” Washer-Dryer ↗

“Depending on when you need it, the best place to get them is Costco in store. Not the ones that there is one model of and you order it, but the ones that are in the store that you take out of the store that day with you. It's not there all the time. “Just my two cents, I own both the GE and the Samsung all on one so I could do twice the laundry lol. The samesung is my favorite because the cloths come out dry like a traditional dryer. It might just be the fact the door pops open when done letting out additional moisture but hey, the drum size is larger and I notice when washing king size suffs... Oh and I love the self clean feature that cleans the coils. Samsung issues (or future issues): The display is Android and im curious what happens if its no longer supported. The display is alway on while washing (I might not have found how to turn it off) but I question the longevity of the display always one While I do like the GE a few issues ive experienced are: Motor started practically screaming through the spin cycle 2 years in, after replacing it its fine for now. Every now and then after a spin cycle it gets stuck in load sensing and never drys the clothes I know that the cloths are supposed to come out feeling slightly "Humid" until it hist the air, I just dont like it. 4)Keeping the coils clean requires you to go above and beyond to maintain your machine.”From thread: What is the best, all one washer dryer/combo unit to buy in 2025. ↗
“I had the LG and Samsung Vented. LG since October 2020 It was in an ADU so not heavy use. This is the model before the heat pump version was released. It had to be repaired three times (only once under warranty). Purchased from Costco but they did not honor the extended warranty through the Citi Visa. In March 2026 the unit was deemed unrepairable and I'm now in the market for a replacement. To me it is not acceptable for a $2,000 laundry appliances to fail in 5 years. In another apartment I have the Samsung Bespoke Vented combo. Had it since summer 2025. It has been finicky - it had a faulty leak detection, but after a software update this has resolved. The wash and dry is excellent. I can't speak to long term durability but this unit is far superior to the LG. Now thinking of replacing the LG with a other Samsung, but the size is an issue. We had to get the unit upstairs and Samsung is much larger than the LG it is replacing. I also need a ventless model for the ADU, and I expect dryer performance to be worse. Whichever model you choose, get an extended warranty. All-in-one laundry is much less reliable than a separate system and not every repair shop knows how to service them.”From thread: What is the best, all one washer dryer/combo unit to buy in 2025. ↗

“Our Samsung washer lasted almost 10yrs before it started having issues on spin cycle. It still runs if we wash very light loads that dont get unbalanced inside but Im not mad tht it worked fine for 9yrs.”From thread: What front load washer/dryer to buy in 2024? Are all brands just terrible? ↗
“When I was ready to buy a new washer and dryer like you I couldn’t find any obvious choices at any price point. So I asked two people I know that have way too much money and aren’t afraid to spend it. One basically said he buys a new top of the line LG set every few years. That’s what we already had and we wanted to get out of the front-loader business because it just seemed to get dirty. His solution was to have his cleaning people follow some wild cleaning ritual pretty often and then just get rid of them every few years even if they were working fine. Then I asked a friend and she had recent purchased Electrolux ones for like $2500 each. But despite the cost a couple years later the washer still broke and she had a hard time finding someone to repair it so she was displeased to say the least. So she arrived at the same conclusion I did. Just but the cheapest ones you can live with and just assume you’ll be replacing them every few years. So I bought a higher level Samsung and so far so good but it’s only been a year or two. I’ll just replace them whenever something goes wrong and I won’t look back. Sure it’s BS but the sooner you just acknowledge that they are all crap the better off you’ll be.”From thread: What front load washer/dryer to buy in 2024? Are all brands just terrible? ↗
“The ventless heat pump units are great. I have the Samsung Bespoke. 120V. But you have to fill it 1/3, not 1/2 full. If you fill it 1/2 full, you’re overloading the dryer and clothes won’t come out dry. Because it’s both a washer and a dryer you have to fill it like the limiting factor which would be the dryer. Most people overfill them then complain. I don’t care how long a load because fill it every night and wake up to a warm load every morning. That’s what she said.”From thread: Request: Best all-in-one washer dryer combo -- one unit does both ↗

“LG’s mid tier stuff is works very well without going insane on price. Samsung is another reliable option. Both have great spin speed and smart features without being overcomplicated. Front load vs top load really depends on your space and habits. Front load saves a bit on water and is gentler but can get smelly if you leave the door closed. Top load is faster to load/unload though a bit rougher on clothes. One little hack install a little shelving unit above. It makes folding and sorting so much less painful.”From thread: Best washer and dryer on the market for cheap-ish?? ↗

“Completely agree. I bought a set of Speed Queens back in 2020, they were very disappointing and the washer was the biggest POS appliance I have ever owned. The Samsung washer I picked up at Costco after dropping off the fairly new Speed Queen at the recycling center has been fine for the last 3 years and cleans much better. Appliances are junk, but are priced according. If I can get 5 years out a $500 washer, I would consider it to be a fair value.”From thread: What Brand Of Washer/Dryer Is Good ↗

“No Samsung. For the love of goodness. LG if anything.”From thread: Need a new washer and dryer, going blind reading horrible reviews ↗
“I wouldn't buy Samsung unless there was literally no other options to choose from. Their appliances are very unreliable. Personally I would consider the Frigidaire washer and dryer set, as they are inexpensive and have pretty good features for the price. Whether or not they will be reliable is beyond me, but they seem to have good reviews so far. (one person said the dryer has a design flaw that will cause it to not heat for 30 minutes if you open the door mid-cycle. I have no idea if this is true or not, but judging by the fact no one else reported the same problem, I kinda doubt it). Honestly all the other brands break down and have issues, but Maytag, Whirlpool, LG, and some Kenmore models seem to be among the better ones. We have a GE top loader right now, it's a bit finicky at times but honestly a pretty good machine so far. Buying used machines as another person pointed out may be a good idea as well.”From thread: Need a new washer and dryer, going blind reading horrible reviews ↗

“GE has been on the market longest and has the best reviews in this category. for all other laundry matters theyre very bad, but this one product theyre the best. That may however be due to the competition just being so far behind. none of these units have amazing reviews. Also; GE has a heat pump, which is why its so big, so it actually dries way better than condenser units. Though the Samsung unit can be vented i believe, whereas none of the other brands can. Samsung has really bad reviews tho overall”From thread: Anyone have long term experience with these all in one washer dryers? ↗
“Not a long term appliance repairman (like a year), but I have too many new Samsungs to have control board issues and this GE combo requiring to completely take it apart to clean, since lint gets stuck inside. “My biggest concern with reading about the Samsung one was how hard it was to get service on them if they have to warranty out. I found so many reviews talking about that and the limbo hell Samsung puts you in since they rely on third party techs compared LG and GE using their own. I see a lot of reviews talking about how good drying is, but it seems like most of them are written at the beginning when people get the machine. I don’t care about drying performance as long as they aren’t vastly different between them. I care about the longevity of the drying system itself”From thread: Anyone have long term experience with these all in one washer dryers? ↗

“I’ve had the GE combo for a few months and it’s been amazing. Normal loads take two hours. Clothes are always dry. Clean the filters! Only thing I dislike is it uses more electricity than a traditional gas dryer. Duh! But it’s saving on gas. Cost is about $0.40 per load in SoCal including taxes and fees about $0.38 /kwh.”From thread: Anyone have long term experience with these all in one washer dryers? ↗
“Not according to the geek squad or my former son in law who is an appliance repair man. They both said LG and Samsung are the worse needing repairs”From thread: What are your opinions on GE washer? ↗
“So, this may be moot in your situation, but I present this: Spend an extra few hundred dollars now, buy a Speed Queen, use it for the next 15-20 years. Buy a GE or Whirlpool (Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air, Consul), and spend a couple hundred on service calls every other year for the 5 or 6 years it works. Buy a LG or Samsung for even cheaper, and put it on the curb in three years. That's a generalization, of course, but it's fairly accurate. GE, Kenmore, Maytag...twenty years ago these were premium American made brands. This is no longer the case.”From thread: What are your opinions on GE washer? ↗

“If you are buying new, go with Speed Queen's TC5 for the washer and the DC5 for the dryer. Speed Queen has been owned by Alliance Laundry Systems since 1998, sells their washers and dryers to independent appliance retailers, and best of all, makes ONLY washers and dryers. Speed Queen washers and dryers are designed to last 25 YEARS if used 8 hours every day. All other modern washers and dryers are designed to last only 3 to 6 years. If you can't afford that, then go with an older Whirlpool direct drive (made from the 1980s until 2010-11). Any Maytag made after 2006 is not really a Maytag, but a higher end Whirlpool. Older Non-HE Maytag washers and dryers made in Newton Iowa are a good vintage alternative to all other modern washers and dryers. DO NOT buy any household appliances made by Samsung. From 2010 to 2017, my parents bought a Samsung front load washer and matching dryer, which quit working in June of 2017. The washer was already on its last legs by then. I told my parents to buy Speed Queen and that is what they have. The dryer had some overheating problems, but the washer has worked flawlessly since they got it. Whatever you get, be sure to leave the washer open when not in use so bacteria doesn't grow inside, which lead to a bad odor. Replace the inlet hoses every 5 years especially if they're made of rubber”From thread: Buying first washer & dryer... Maytag or Whirlpool? ↗

“LG is actually the second most reliable brand behind speed queen (expensive) when it comes to appliance repair technicians ratings. I recently got an lg and it’s been great. I bought a set of Maytag washer and dryers in 2016 and had constant control board failures costing $250 each time. Replaced the washer after the third failure in 3 years. LG is essentially the best brand of sub $1,000 washing machines and dryers don’t really matter as much as they’re not as complicated as washers. Samsung is trash and LG is trash for every appliance except washers and dryers where they are actually one of the best.”From thread: Should I get these Maytag washer and dryer ↗
“We just bought the electrolux stacking machines, and so far, like them, I have a couple of rentals, and one has an Amana set and they are great and not new at all, no complaints. He said he gets calls to repair them too often”From thread: Electrolux Front Load Washers? ↗
“When front load washer became a necessity in the 1990s because of evergy use requirements, frigidaire produced a direct drive front loader. Separate pump. No transmission. Simple design. Frigidaire was a part of white consolidated industries, and they owned Westinghouse. It was out of a retooled Westinghouse factory that the Frigidaire front loader washer and dryer emerged. All this is to say that they have a LONG history in the front loader industry. The name is different, but the history is the same. I bought an early generation Frigidaire front loading pair. The washer lasted 20 years, the dryer is still going. I had a 7 year old Samsung that died. Things aren't as they used to be, and I'm sure shortcuts have been made. Buy my next washer and dryer will be a Frigidaire or Electrolux.”From thread: Electrolux Front Load Washers? ↗
“I bought a Samsung lasted 5 years then now wont spin a load without getting unbalanced, takes 2 hours min 1 hour to wash a load of clothes. I had modern technology. It does not belong in a dishwasher or washing machine. They are making things so complicated. I dont want all my appliances talking to each other. I just want them to do their job. Do it well. And not break. That's it. I am about to buy a speed queen. I miss having an agitator. It will wear your clothes out is you stuff it to full of clothes. And if your water is hard and your detergent sucks stains wont come out. I use borax with what ever I use. I buy different detergents based on what smell im feeling that day at the grocery store. Teaspoon of baking soda will make the water alkaline, and you dont have to use a lot of soap, just fyi”From thread: Is Speed Queen still a good choice? ↗
“1.) Never ever EVER get a Samsung appliance. Be it a washing machine, dryer, refrigerator, stove, or microwave. They're complete pieces of shit. They're not made to be repaired and they aren't built to last. 2.) Speed Queen is a commercial duty unit, usually seen at laundromats, hotels, apartment shared-use laundries, and other high-use facilities. They have decent wash quality, but their claim to fame is longevity and ease of repair. They're also good on utility usage. They will lack some features like internet integration. But do you really need your washer to send you a twitter or Facebook message saying your underoos are done?”From thread: Are Speed Queens actually good washer/dryers ↗
“repair bills that are so high you might as well just replace it. I had a Samsung oven go on me and there was one repair guy and he said, "I'm not even going out there. go buy a new one. the part is $700, and then my labor on top, and I like money, but I know what's wrong already." If I had the space for a speed queen top-loader? not even a question. yes front loaders save water but there is so much you *can't* do with a front loader if you're a bit of a laundry maven (spoiler alert: hi I'm a laundry maven)”From thread: Are Speed Queens actually good washer/dryers ↗
“I had an 8 year old Samsung and the motherboard died. Well guess what, they're not required to stock replacement parts longer than 7 years, so they don't. It should have been a simple fix but it was a giant piece of trash instead. I don't know what bells and whistles you have, but my SpeedQueen has every function that I think I could want. I still have a Samsung set in my second home and it's fine . . . I don't prefer the washing or options in either.”From thread: Are Speed Queens actually good washer/dryers ↗
“We replaced our Samsung with a stackable front loading SQ and it is not even a fair competition. SQ is in an entire different class. A lot of modern washers boast an XL capacity. However, SQ uses a smaller drum, which means it can use more water and can spin faster, resulting in cleaner and less damp laundry, which then reduces drying time. SQ gets clothes cleaner, faster. Can’t comment on durability as we’ve only had ours a few years. But as I understand it, SQ designs with repair rather than replacement in mind. The washer now needs a new control arm, sounds like a F22 getting ready to take off when it's in the spin cycle, and sometimes doesn't drain completely. “Dangerous and potentially fatal flaw in the Samsung 5.3 cu ft Bespoke AI Ventless All-in-One Washer Dryer Combo. I purchased this product 06/26/2024 and it was received and installed 07/03/2024. At first everything was fantastic, clothes came out clean and dry, I’d set a load before bedtime and we were easily able to keep on top of the laundry for a family of six. After about 6 months I noticed that the laundry was consistently damp at the end of a drying cycle. I followed the instructions on the Samsung support center to clean the heat exchange coils and make sure the lint trap and surrounding area were clean. That seemed to help for a couple loads and then the performance issues returned. I contacted Samsung and a service repairman was sent to look at it. He didn’t see anything wrong, and suggested washing the lint trap every few uses to prevent a buildup of fabric softener. The performance issues continued, and it was a huge disappointment to have spent $1,999.99 dollars on a piece of equipment that was having to be run multiple times just to get a dry load of laundry. It became difficult to stay on top of the laundry, and frustrating as the lower washer filter was continually becoming clogged with hair. Finally, out of desperation, seeking answers to this issue, fed up with soggy clothing and multiple runs that used MORE energy, and caused us to constantly be behind on the laundry, I turned to Reddit threads and Youtube. This washer/dryer combo is promoted as being ventless, a huge plus, because of no need to constantly clean an external vent, increasing our risk of a house fire. As a first responder family that was a relief. According to Consumer Affairs, “Dryers are responsible for approximately 13,820 fires annually.” I faithfully cleaned the lint trap every load and followed all the instructions provided by Samsung for continuing maintenance. What I found inside the back of my washer/dryer unit was shocking. After scouring Youtube I finally found an account that showed how to remove the lid and open the top of the lint chute, the chute that carries all the lint up to the trap where it can then be removed. The lint chute was almost completely filled with lint, there was a small hole through which air could get through. This obviously explained the poor performance issues with drying, but was shocking as it’s a huge fire hazard, and the only way to reach it is to take apart the washer/dryer. Attached is a photo of the pile of lint that I removed from the unit. Pencil for reference to HOW much lint was stuffed in there. Obviously there is a flaw in the design of the chute that carries the lint to the trap. This will be an ongoing issue, where to fully clean the unit I, as the consumer, have to take apart the washer/dryer to access the built up lint. This is a fatal flaw in this unit, one that I’m grateful to have found, but one that has the potential to cause house fires for the other consumers that have bought it. There is no way to clean the lint, and consumers have no knowledge of the build up unless, like me, they spent hours trying to find somebody on Youtube or Reddit that might know how I could fix my wet laundry. Do better Samsung. In 2023 there were 4,371 fire deaths. So far in 2025 there have been 1,240 home fire deaths. The NFPA reports that, “between 2016 and 2020, the United States experienced an annual average of 350,800 home structure fires.” My family is lucky to not be part of that statistic, you’d better hope that others who bought the same product have that same luck. I can't add photos on Reddit but the pile of lint that was recovered from the chute was over the size of a dinner plate, almost completely closing off the chute.”From thread: What is the best, all one washer dryer/combo unit to buy in 2025. ↗

“Honestly I’d skip Samsung for washers/dryers. Lots of tech but way too many reliability complaints and expensive repairs. GE is a bit better but Speed Queen is pretty much the gold standard for reliability and longevity (they’re built like tanks and last 15+ years). Downside is they’re more expensive and don’t have all the fancy features but you rarely hear about major breakdowns. If that’s out of budget, Whirlpool and Maytag are also solid choices. Easier to get parts and service, and they generally hold up well for 8-10 years if you stick to their basic models. Front loaders usually clean better and are gentler on clothes, but good top loaders like GE or Whirlpool are still a safe bet. So if you want to splurge get a nice washing machine and the cheapest dryer they’ve got. Everyone here is gonna say speed queen and I doubt you’d be disappointed but it’s probably overkill. “Only people who have problems with appliances talk about appliances. I have never required a single service call in the 10 years Ive lived by myself on any appliance, and as far as I can remember we have never required a service call on any appliance at my parents house either. We have a tech every two years come out and clean out coils, vents, filters, etc., and every time we moved we always just conveyed the appliances so granted it hasnt been the same set for 30 years. There are reasons to buy one brand over another, ie GE uses a mold-proof material for their gaskets on the front loaders. Huge reason to pick it over Samsung or LG if you cant leave the washer door open. The price you pay for a Speed Queen is not worth the longevity it might provide. Not only do you spend more in water and replacing clothes, but the main line brands laating half or even 1/4 as long comes out significantly cheaper than the SQ”From thread: Best washer and dryer in 2026 that actually lasts? Neutral takes about Samsung (13)
General comments about the brand that don't name a specific model.
“I’ve had the Samsung powerbot cleaning daily in my home for 3 years now. My honest opinion of it is that as a vacuum, it’s fantastic. It has the same dirt lifting power as any normal size. The Navigation is good, not great. It rarely gets lost anymore because of its mapping system but it does get stuck in some stupid places. It doesn’t have sensors that can judge its height for clearance or what’s behind it, as a result it rubs, bangs and bumps into the trim and furniture. We have dogs and cats- they took no issue to it after about a week or so. They now seem to enjoy laying in its path and watching it as it goes around them, this makes me worry because their tails could get caught up in it potentially. I’ve heard the new roombas have much improved navigation and there’s a lot of good competitors. I went for a premium model and wasn’t disappointed.”From thread: What's the best vacuum robot for a large floor plan? ↗

“As someone who has spent a lot of time studying this topic, I can provide some general feedback: many people love this product, along with SKUs from competitive products such as SS and LG because they solve a few key needs: 1) saves space in the laundry room, 2) they no longer have to transfer loads. However, dry performance and reliability issues are major issues with these machines for a few reasons - most dryer capacity is 20-30% higher than washers so there is more room to tumble clothes and therefore, the clothes are less likely to be wrinkled and dry faster. Further, while I'm not an engineer, I understand that these machines (Profiles) have a flaw in the filter design such that lint can bypass it leading to reliability issues over time. There have been proposed fixes on youtube, where the filter is modified but I'm unsure whether that addresses the issue. So, while some consumers love it (especially immediately after purchase), others are unhappy with the performance and reliability over time, especially given the very high price tag and claims around cycle time.”From thread: What is the actual deal with the GE Profile washer/dryer combo? “Does the new vented Samsung wash combo have to be cleaned as meticulously as the ventless versions of the combo? I actually have the ventless LG. I’ve had it for one and a half years and so far I’ve had no problem with it. But I am meticulous about keeping the lint filters clean, including washing and scrubbing the removable filters fairly regularly. I initially bought the GE ventless, but it was a pain to keep that lint filter clean so I traded it for the LG. I’ve been thinking about getting a combo for my kids upstairs as they rarely remember to move the clothes. But my concern is that kids would struggle to remember to keep the filters as clean as I do. I’ve been thinking about getting them a Samsung vented combo, but I’m not seeing any reviews about what the upkeep is compared to the ventless. I also like that if the Samsung vented works well but we need to double the combo capacity, I can put the matching Samsung ventless combo in the washing machine’s space Granted with the vented dyers, not cleaning the dryer vent is a fire hazard. But I get the dryer vents in the house cleaned fairly regularly to prevent those issues. The thing about standard vented dryers is that the components are pretty simple, with inexpensive coils and belts being the items that need to be replaced most often. I just don’t know if the Samsung ventless shares those characteristics, including having a fairly simple venting system that doesn’t require you to regularly take extraordinary measures to get it really clean.”From thread: What is the best, all one washer dryer/combo unit to buy in 2025. ↗
“Some additional insight. LG and Samsung washers are affected by power quality from the utility. They also seem to not do well in older houses on shared circuits, or systems with impeded neutral/ground path. On new houses, properly wired, GF breakers don't nuisance trip like GF receptacles. Ive wired over 20 custom houses for a builder that provides warranty assistance on appliances for the length of the warranty period and I've swapped only a handful of microwaves. When technicians don't work on certain brands, it's been my experience that it's usually because that manufacturer requires the repair man be certified to do so. Most guys would comply with that requirement to protect the warranty of the machine for the sake of owner, and themselves. Also, most tradesmen these days don't ply their respective trades for a living, they earn a paycheck for a living. A lot may not know how to properly fix more advanced machines, so call-back rates are high, ensuring margins are low, or non existent. One thing I know for sure, Samsung and LG are great at electronics. South Koreans are far better at manufacturing than the US, across the board. If there are inferior parts in their machines, it's probably because an American company was involved somewhere along the way.”From thread: Need help finding best washer/dryer for our family ↗
“I'd recommend Miele. We have a Samsung washer-dryer, the drying function isn't great - which is why we got a separate Miele dryer - but it washes alright and has been going strong for 9 years. My main issue with it is that it frequently gets a bit mouldy smelling despite keeping the door open and doing the sanitation cycles. We have to use sterilising tablets in the wash to help with the smell. My parents have had Miele washers and dryers for 30 years and they're excellent work horses and repairable.”From thread: What is the best reliable washer/dryer brand? ↗
