“I've had a Legion Tower for a little over 2 years now. No weird proprietary parts, decent airflow, and it's been surprisingly low-maintenance. That's honestly worth more to me than chasing a few extra FPS”

“Had a Lenovo Legion Tower 7i, honestly solid af. Runs cool, no bloatware BS, and upgradeable which i didn't expect from a prebuilt”

“My friends' Lenovo legions are still going strong since 2019 (some upgrades have been made to one and the other guy has his is stock still). I had one and loved it. Alienware and HP use a lot of proprietary crap while Lenovo doesn't. I was able to do a case swap and PSU swap on mine. Also cyberpowerpc and ibuypower are fine if you pick the components yourself online and they often run sales. I recently was in best buy and was playing around with their new ROG desktops, they look great.”

“Prebuilts done by like Lenovo or Alienware? Yeah, utter dogshit most of the time, with Alienware being all the time. Prebuilts done by different shops and sold as a bundle of all the stuff inside? See reviews of that specific shop. My build is actually a thing of the sorts I found at a masive discount and knew the guys had a good reputation with both their prebuilts and their return policies and warranties. 6 months later no problems.”

“Really depends, part/cost is better than self-building these days but there's usually hidden issues. Big brands (HP, lenovo, etc) will use proprietary motherboards with properietary PSUs that make it hard/impossible to upgrade. You may end up with a system that has 1 stick of RAM running in single channel mode. They might cut corners on cooling/air flow, motherboard might be extremely budget, etc.”
