Eufy

Brand reputation

What Reddit says about Eufy

Redditors tend to view Eufy as a good value-oriented robot vacuum brand, especially for buyers who want straightforward cleaning without spending too much. Its main strengths are affordability, quiet operation, and solid everyday performance, while its biggest weaknesses are model-dependent navigation, fewer premium features on budget models, and varying reliability. Buyers generally recommend comparing individual models rather than judging the entire brand by one product.

“If I can make a suggestion, as you are dealing with a ton of hair, I would recommend a Dreame or Xaomi robot vacuum, and upgrading them the compatible tricut brush. The hair puts a ton of strain on the robot vacuum motor, and the tricut brush literally cuts the hair as it spins so it can easily be sucked up. If you aren't prepared to get an expensive commercial grade robot vacuum, I would recommend getting two robot vacuums to ease the load and to provide backup in case one fails. If you had two Eufy L60 SES models for example, with each robot only being responsible for 1/2 the building each then there is a higher chance of both units surviving long term. I've seen multiple non commercial grade robot vacuums in salons, rental storage facilities, and offices with each robot in charge of a limited amount of space.”

“Cool thanks for the recommendation. Thats one of the reasons I picked up the Eufy L60 SES cause of that base with the hair cutting blade, which works fantastic, I think like you said though having just the 1 running almost all day just to cover the majority of the building might be too much for it. I have thought about picking up another L60 SES for the opposite side of the building to share the load. Luckily I do have another L60 at home that I was able to swap out for the one having the wheel problem until I get that solved. And I hope the wheel problem is just a fluke and not a common issue I run into with the L60's because I really do like that model.”

“Well said. I really like my e28. I think we are in a bit of a transition phase when it comes to mopping functionality as I believe we will see more and more brands adopt roller mops as the standard and it will get better and better in time (as well as AI becoming more and more powerful meaning obstacle avoidance will keep progressing rapidly.) And for that reason I think the e25 is a great pick as it’s a mid range unit with modern features that you’re not having to pay top dollar for a flagship that’s features will be old news in just a couple years.”

“Roller mop robots will generally offer much better mopping than spinning mop robots, but you'd need to take care of them more. The lowest-hassle roller mop robots I can think of are the Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track, the MOVA Z50 Ultra, and the Narwal Flow. However, only the Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track and the MOVA Z50 Ultra are in the international market. In the US, I'd look for the Eufy E25/E28, which has pretty good obstacle avoidance like the Eufy S1 Pro. For spinning mops, Dreame, Mova, and Narwal excel in obstacle avoidance. I think the newer models from these brands allow you to clean areas that the robot had to miss when it finishes the rest of the home before, because kids and toys were there earlier.”

“Vacuum wars is the real deal, pretty sure I watch every video (nerd alert). They also have a video for every vacuum that compares it to others in its range. So I recommend checking them out based on your specific home and wants. Imo eufy has the best obstacle avoidance at the moment especially on the s1 pro, it's amazing. I would recommend the eufy s1 pro or the e25 (e28 if you also wanted a portable carpet cleaner). Roller mop is a game changer and far superior, if buying new don't get one with spinning pads. Edit: I personally own the eufy s1 and the eufy x10. Love them both and wouldn't hesitate to buy them again. Most hard floors with some large rugs in my home.”

“Honestly ,the eufy s2 is probably exactly what you're looking for .I had the exact same complaints as you hated dealing with grossmop pads and cutting hair off the rollers every week.Tge s2's brush design completely solved the hair wrap issue for me and the base station handles all the dirty work like washing the mops drying them and emptying.I just fill the water tank maybe twice a month and ignore it the rest of the time. It's easily the most hands-off robot vaccum I have used.”

“My Eufy C10 is super low maintenance (but it’s also vacuum only). I change the bag maybe once every two months and the roller and brushes as needed (every few months). My Dreame x40 Ultra is really low maintenance. The most often thing I do I change the clean and waste water tanks (once a week). I also wipe the sensors at the same time.”

“Amazon often has good discounts. I stacked two discounts and got £90 off of the normally £299 G10 hybrid - we have moved our existing 30C upstairs. One thing I have noticed though, we have a small floor plan but tall house (townhouse) so the random bumping around generallly covers everywhere we need to, but the new G10 has a somewhat smart mode where it can go up and down in lines. I know the higher end ones have Lidar etc and I think that would be sensible if you have a big floor area. I just wasn’t ready to spend £500 given that it is the third vacuum we have in the house!”

It does great on all the fine dust and hair from our two large dogs, replacement parts are cheap and easy to find, and it’s incredibly quiet. No app or really any smart features - has a remote, but mostly just tap it on. I don’t see myself ever paying anything in the Roborock range with how well this does”

“Eufy L60 with Self-Empty Station It’s my third Eufy. I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s BIFL as anything with a rechargeable battery is going to require replacement batteries. They come with replacement rollers and side brushes, which is a wearable part. You’ll also need their proprietary bags for the docking station. Is it worth it? For me in a 2500 sqft home with two short haired big dogs, yes. This particular model has a programmable app where you can set no-go areas and prioritize cleaning order by room. You can schedule cleaning cycles for when you’re not home or sleeping.”

“I wasn't going to comment but your question stuck in the back of my mind so I thought I might contribute. I have 7 robot vacuums in my busy household, of various brands, and another 7 Scooba floor-scrubbing robots that are a defunct iRobot product, and have no reason to contradict the advice here - Roborock and Eufy are both solid performers. I would only add two things. The first is that I haven't really touched iRobot except for the second-hand Scoobas but they do finally seem to be offering uniquely useful products atm. It's latest vacuum-only, for instance, compresses the waste in the dustbin to increase the time between empties. The second is that I've had good success splitting the money between a smart vacuum/mop that recognises cables, sets a rational course for cleaning etc, and an absolutely dumb AF one that hurtles around for hours until its battery runs out. The latter encourages the family not to leave crap all over the floor, vacuums for far longer than any cleaner would and thus picks up a lot more dust despite typically slightly weaker suction. These things have no map, no idea where it is and will either flee screaming from a pile of cables or try to hump it to death. You can set a schedule then delete the app. They're also good for quick cleanups. The smarter ones will go through a sort of Chinese tea ceremony of preparing their pads and achieving perfect positioning whereas the cheapo boys barrel into the room like a redneck riding a pig and just get the job done.”

I like that for around 500$ it has a roller mop and the anti tangle design. I inspected everything on it last night and there were no hair tangles or anything on it that would have happened quite easily on my older roborock s7 max ultra with my wifes hair. “Eufy S1 Pro. It's just amazing and has some essential features that very few other models have - making ozone in water tank (killing all bacterias, so you don't need to buy distilled water and even disinfects floors, dirty water tank doesn't smell afterwards). Rolling mop is the only moping solution I'd ever consider (no dirt pushing, always clean mop). Before I got it I was worried about long hair tangling, but it doesn't tangle at all. Much more compact base than most of other units. The only thing I'd like it to have is direct water in/out connection to house sewage, but it's really not that important due to ozone.”

“Eufy S1 Pro. I have cats, messy teens with long hair, complex mapping inside of rooms, junk piles of miscellaneous kids stuff/cords, and different height insets under floor cabinets. It handles them all. Carpet, hardwood floors, linoleum, and a rug/runner on top of hardwood in front of my front door. It transitions well between mopping hard surfaces to vacuum only on the rugs. Only downside is that it can't move open doors to clean being them, which no robot vac can in the current generation.”

“Eufy s1 pro is doing a great job in general for us. However, it switches to vacuum mode when approaching carpet so that it cannot mop close to the door mat where we tend to kick off the dirty shoes. So that area needs a manual mopping. I tried moving the door mat but it still has memory of it being there and won’t mop. Otherwise, it’s doing a great job on both hardwood and carpet. Noise level is very reasonable. Obstacle avoidance is excellent.”

“We have 2 Eufy S1 Pro Omni - we have a cat, dog and 2 adults. House is 3.5K sqft with 75% travertine and the rest carpet. Obstacle avoidance is awesome. Only thing we do is pick-up as much as we can to maximize the area it can clean otherwise it will just avoid things left on the floor. Mopping is its forte and our floors have never been so spotless. One of the robots is in the bedroom wing and runs during the day. As this is a low traffic area, we only run it once a week or as needed if we have quests. The other unit is in the main traffic/use area (kitchen, family room, dining nook, laundry, office) and it runs at night, 3 times a week. I highly recommend the S1 and later probably the new S2 once it has time to mature, have some usage miles on it in the real world, and benefit from a few firmware updates.”

“Some observations: A number of robots advertise a headlight of sorts for night cleaning. I would recommend one of these. Other models advertise that they don't need visible light, but I would be skeptical. Obstacle avoidance tends to be a feature where you get what you pay for. Dreame, Narwal, and Eufy seem to have better obstacle avoidance than other brands, though I would still check reviews to be sure. You're almost certainly going to do better with a newer model for longevity than your Roomba. Until last year, iRobot robots were known for poor navigation and poor efficency due to their lack of LIDAR. Any newer robot with some form of LIDAR will almost certainly do better. That said, 4000 square feet is huge. Look for the biggest battery you can find. Averages these days are around 5000 milli-amp-hours (mAh), which for you should be considered a lower bound. Also, you might look at Ecovacs models with their PowerBoost feature; it fast recharges the battery during routine stops for mop washing and the like, which both extends the cleaning time for the first cleaning and reduces the downtime for the inevitable recharge. Pretty much all robots these days have a quiet mode of some kind. Mops have come a long way since your Braava. Many have single flat pads on the rear half of the robot; these are not very good. An exception is Roborock's flat pads that vibrate. Generally, you'll want to stick with either two round-ish spinning pads on the back, or a roller-style mop. (I include robots like the Narwal Flow in this category, with more of a flat track than a round roller.) Each kind has advantages and disadvantages, so you'll want to look closely to see what you prefer. Nearly all self-empty stations will let you ignore the dustbin for at least a month at a time. I've replaced the bag in my Eufy S1 Pro three times since I bought it a year and three months ago. Cleaning the filter and dustbin on the robot is still important, though, so you'll want to check how often the vendor recommends doing that. Note that bagless vacuums are the norm today, but bagless self-empty stations for robots have drawbacks that you should be aware of; since the bag acts as a filter, bagless models need regular filter maintenance on the dock as well as the robot. You mention water hook-ups. A few models from Roborock, Dreame, Eufy, Narwal, and SwitchBot support direct water lines for both filling and emptying. In some cases, the vendor makes special models that support the lines; in others, the vendor sells a water hook-up kit. I would be skeptical of third-party kits, but kits designed by the vendor for the vendor's robots should be fine. Everyone seems to be recommending the robot they like/have. That's fine, but don't let it confuse or overwhelm you. In particular, I wouldn't buy a robot that hasn't been on the market for at least a few months, and that has few to no independent reviews. Most robots have problems when first released, which the influencers and paid reviews won't tell you about.”

“I've had several Roborocks through the years, but Thor, Vacuum of Thunder (S8 MaxV Ultra) was recently renamed to Disappointment. He won't empty the mop water nor wash the mop. He pretends like he can't dock, although he can dock just fine to empty the dust bin. Now that by itself is no biggie. I get it...things break. These are the two reasons I'll never buy another Roborock: The mechanical rolling wheel broke. Roborock wouldn't just let me buy another. They wanted $150 plus shipping to mail the whole robot in. The wheel is kept in place by TWO SCREWS. I ordered the part off eBay for $15 and replaced it myself. The stupid thing broadcasts its own 2.4 gHz wifi network constantly, even though it's joined to mine. It follows the channel of my own 2.4 gHz network when I switch my channel. I think I'm going for Eufy next. But I'll buy it through Costco this time.”

“Eufy x10 Pro Omni. Does an excellent job cleaning, settings are highly customizable & easy to use. Only complaint (true of all of these) is lack of direct hookup to water and drainage. Manually emptying the dirty water bucket is a chore, but worth it if (like me) you hate vacuuming & can afford to have a robot do it while you’re at work.”

“We use the Eufy X10 Pro. We have 2 of them upstairs and downstairs and they are brilliant. We do have to purchase new bags often and replace the brushes so the cost is more than just a standard vacuum but we have 3 dogs and 2 cats and it’s brilliant, majority of it is hard floor so mopping is great too. The downside the Eufy integration even with homebridge is difficult and when you succeed is pants”

“Eufy Omni c20 is handling our dogs' long hair well, and we are historically death to vacuums because of all the fur on the floor. The hair/roller comb works brilliantly, and after the first few days I haven't had to manually clean the roller except occasionally pull hair off the ends of it (and the end caps come off so it's super easy). Mop is great for muddy paws - so happy to have clean floors - but you don't need to use it and it can run as vac only.”

Every review you watch or read about the s1 pro is right. Mopping is excellent, the vacuum needs more thought in the design department and personally I think it needs more power (maybe up to the 10k some competition has) and it would benefit from a tricut brush. Apart from that. Eufy is a keeper and we will be selling the new L20 ultra when it returns.”

“Eufy X10 Omni has worked very well for two years. A month after the warranty expired it developed a left wheel error that would not clear. Customer service said to send it in and they would look at it for free but no guarantee it could be fixed. They were very responsive via email, checking in to see if I sent it, etc. This week they emailed to say they were able to fix it and it’s on its way back to me. I am very excited to get it back because who knew vacuuming your own house would be such a chore? I just do not have time to do that everyday. This level of service seems like a one-off that never happens these days.”

“I disagree with his assessment of roller mops, that the problems he saw with streaks and dirty water drops are inherent to the design of roller mops. His analogy with a windshield wiper doesn't hold up. With the robots, it's not the floor being scraped, leaving streaks to the sides on the floor, but rather the rollers themselve. I for one have an Eufy S1 Pro and don't get any streaks and have encountered single drops being left behind on just a few occasions after more than a year of use. Though there have been some reports from the community of dirty water drops left behind in the beginning, Eufy has addressed this since by redesigning and increasing the size of the catch tray behind the roller mop scraper.”

“The Eufy s2 only scored a 2.80 in the mopping score. The Narwal flow 2 also scored pretty poorly at 2.66 (however. apparently there was a software update that was not installed prior to testing). I was in a very similar situation to you where I was looking for the absolute best mopping robot with no budget (check my prior posts). I have a mostly tile home with a kitchen that easily shows stains. I settled on the Mova z60 ultra. I believe it is third on vacuum wars (3.66) behind the T90 pro Omni (3.90). Since everyone is recommending the flow 2 I’ll just tell you why I picked this over the flow. Compared to the flow 2 The Z60 has a higher downward pressure (12N vs 17N I believe) and it rotates the mop 30rpm faster. The flow 2 mops with 60 degrees hot water but once the water actually reaches the floor I believe it would be cold anyway. Whilst specs are not everything my experience with the z60 has been very good. Compared to my old Z50 which has the same track mop as the flow 2 with higher pressure (18N) and 30 degree mopping the Z60 performs significantly better. Maybe the roller (instead of track) mop is just more effective at removing stains? Whilst I may be inherently biased towards the Z60, my decision was primarily based upon reviews and experiences with the Mova Z50. If I were you I would get either a z60 ultra (or the newer z70 ultra) or the T90 pro Omni. If you live in a country with good consumer protection laws I wouldn’t bother researching too much as it drove me absolutely crazy sorting through all of the paid reviews. Just try one of them out.”

I've been chatting with somebody that works on these robots and says the pads are going to be the lower maintenance of the two.. and I am not unhappy with my current model freo z ultra.. not real thrilled with the vacuuming of it I preferred dreamies a little bit more and eufy e25 was better at vacuuming.. and if you have lvp which I do which is expensive you need it to have less water on the floor and it can't be real hot or you can ruin your floors and I paid a lot of money for my floors!”

“I have a couple of the older or really low end ones and wouldn't really recommend as someone's first vacuum robot because they're all missing some feature or built to a price point with major compromises. Its not worth buying something you can't just trust to do the job and ultimately won't use. I'd put all the current sub $250 robots in this category. There are several Dreame/Mova models that use the Tricut brush (add on) and that's great for a pet household and may push you to the lowest really good price point. Other newer technology by other brands to avoid hair wrap around the main rollers - like having multiple rollers work well too. Modern equivalent of what I have with daily and sometimes multiple route a day use. Eufy 11S - low price bounce navigation robot. I have a 7 year old model and parts are really cheap to keep it operating but it doesn't clean all that well. Using in a low traffic area and still requires daily emptying. Dreame D20 Air Plus - current sub $200 robot. Good vacuum and self emptying into large bag. Obstacle avoidance okay but not great. Not a passable mop. Vacuum very susceptible for hair wrap though, and for that reason hasn't been great in our pet household. Good, but still have to interact with it routinely to clear the roller. This is a daily interaction for me currently as well. Mova P10 Pro Ultra - $350 range robot. Tricut brush available in generic brand for another $20. This is the lowest price point for something that just works without interaction in my opinion. Base station vacuum bag is relatively small for a pet owner with a lot of carpet, but the robot will go without interaction for a week or more with no interaction. Mopping works well. Obstacle avoidance great. I do really like the Dreame/Mova integration with Home Assistant and ultimately that's probably what will keep me with their robots for any future purchases. Its been nice to automate sweeping the litter box area when cats clear out for instance.”

“FWIW I have an L60 SES that I bought in May 2024 because we have a border collie cross and our last Eufy would get pet hair jammed up in the spindle ends of the roller and also the caster wheel axle. The cutting blade does help tremendously, but we still deal with rollers getting clogged with hair at the ends quite badly. The roller is replaceable but the cost adds up of course. We'll clean each one a couple times until the hair is making it difficult to turn even after cleaning. And the caster wheel does not roll at all at this point because the axle gets jammed with hair. Honestly it seems like that component was specifically designed to gather long pet hair. I can remove the caster, disassemble and completely clear it. By the time one day passes, it is completely immobilized again. This does not appear to affect the vacuum's operation at all though. HOWEVER the other day it ended the run right near the SES unit. I picked it up and manually placed it on the charging pad. Nothing. It doesn't come on or begin charging. I verified the base has power. The robovac is just dead. I'm considering taking it apart, checking the battery, etc. but I'm also researching other options.”

“I'm testing out the T90 pro currently alongside my eufy omni s1 pro and so far I would say it is a good value for the price but it is also worse in pretty much every regard. It is constantly doing voice narration about its actions, it has to return to the base station frequently (more voice narration), it uses about 3x as much water and takes 50% longer to clean the same area, and the sound of the vacuum running and robot moving are both more annoying and higher pitch. For the level of water usage it requires it needed to have a much bigger water tank in the dock. My eufy dock's water tank only needed to be refilled once every 3 mopping cycles whereas for the T90 pro I have to refill it after every mopping cycle. I haven't been testing it long enough to have any assessment on long term reliability but the eufy omni s1 pro is very unreliable and breaks about every 6 months which is the only reason why I'm looking into other robot vacuums since otherwise it has been excellent.”

“I like my Eufy S1 but it loses track of where it is occasionally and likes to randomly delete the maps when you move the robot to a different floor. Support is useless and just tells you "idk bro just remap".”

“Lots of great feedback already so I'll just add my 2 cents: None are long lasting, or reliable for the price point. Any other gadget that costs that amount you'd expect many years of service with no issues. Go to any of these manufacturers forums on Reddit and they will be filled with users discussing issues. So go into it assuming you will need to return it for repairs, or deal with error codes and potentially for it to die 3 days after the warranty period ends. I love mine (Eufy S1 Pro), but it's been back for repairs 4 times in 2 years and that's not uncommon.”

“Does the Mova user experience live up to the hype? I'm considering getting one for my next. I've had a Eufy L50 for several years and it's decent for what I paid, but it definitely has a lot of bugs with the software and if I was spending $300+ then I would expect less issues. Also had a Eufy X10 that was returned within the week it had so many issues.”

“I second the roborock Q5 pro recommendation. I started off trying a Eufy L50 because I was able to pick it up from Walmart, it did great at everything besides getting dog hair out of my rugs. The Q5 pro does everything just a little bit better than the L50 in my opinion and I paid $50 less for it. I was somewhat shocked at how much better it was at getting hair out of my cheap door mat type rugs. I'd get the Q5 pro + (the + comes with SES) if I was you, you have over double the space as me.”

“Interesting. Our Eufy S1 pro died within under two years but legal warranty is 2 years so we very lucky in the end and were able to get a satisfying solution”

“I’m in the market now for a mop/vacuum robot. My last vac was the roborock s7 and it honestly was so dang helpful. We have pets and a toddler and the extra daily vac run made it feel so much more manageable keeping a 3k sqft home clean. Now in a new home and we need mop functionality too. I’m willing to drop $1k+ if it works. I’m checking out the roborock, eufy and mova…but honestly don’t know what to try. I get they aren’t perfect. Anything that actually helps is worth the money. Especially when cleaners here cost $400-$900 per cleaning.”
