What Reddit says about Ecovacs
Redditors see ECOVACS as a brand with strong cleaning and mopping capabilities but inconsistent reliability and after-sales support. Its feature-packed models can be appealing, especially when discounted, but buyers should research the specific DEEBOT model and check local warranty coverage before purchasing. Experiences with customer service can also vary by country and retailer.

“Another long-haired female checking in here. We have a Deebot N10+. I think it’s about our third or fourth robot vacuum. Every one we have had ends up with my long hair wound around the brush. The brilliant thing about the Deebot is that it has a tiny haircutter attached to the machine itself. it makes cleaning it so much easier. It’s a 10 second job because you don’t need to hunt around for scissors or a knife. One day they will make a robot vacuum that can properly deal with long hair, but until then this is my best solution. Hope that helps”From thread: Is there a robot vacuum that doesn't make cleaning out long hair from the brushes/bristles a pain? ↗

“After months of you tube videos and review websites I landed on the ecovacs deebot t30s we used to have the Roborock V7 Max but this one has more suction and the brush doesn’t get jammed with hair (there’s 3 long haired people plus 3 dogs that shed in the house) and we like that the vacuum empties itself asap when it’s full. And the mop is better than the robotic, which we sold at a great price, almost got our money back. Value on the T30s is incomparable. We were scared since some reviews said the vacuum kept breaking but thankfully ours has held strong it’s been 4 months of 4-5x a week vacuum + mop (3K sqft tile home)”From thread: Hi everyone, I wanted to get my sister a robot vacuum. “I've had the Deebot T20 Omni for a year and it's still going strong. Good mopper (the used water tank looks pretty grim as aresult when you empty it), and great on the carpet too. Only complaint I have is it sometimes pauses itself for small things that don't require immediate maintenance, like some hair wrapped around the brush, and you have to manually tell it to just continue. T20 was critisicsed for having poor edging, but t30 apparently fixed that. I haven't had a problem with that myself.”From thread: Hi everyone, I wanted to get my sister a robot vacuum. “Coming from someone who has a i7+ roomba and has been looking at newer vacs this year. As much as I love the reviews of the latest models from this site, the ranking system is very much broken. Looking at that spreadsheet, the X11 Omni seems to outperform many models placed ahead of it. The only negatives I have been able to find in any of the videos is: first run navigation is mediocre but Improves drastically on subsequent runs. Can’t see the problem there. App layout. Which from my prospective, once a vacuum is set up and mapped, all I would ever do is turn the unit on. Can’t see what I could possibly dick around with endlessly. As long as Ecovac’s continues to support its products with software updates this last one is also invalid. To me, the X11 seems to be the best of the bunch.”From thread: I got overwhelmed by robot vac choices, so I made a comparison sheet from vacuumwars’ comparison tool ↗

“This might be a dumb question, but why is Dreame the #1 pick when Ecovacs X11 is pretty much superior in every single category except for carpet cleaning and "best for pets"? Is it because of the price?”From thread: I got overwhelmed by robot vac choices, so I made a comparison sheet from vacuumwars’ comparison tool ↗
“Deebot X11.”From thread: What is the best robot - no price limit - for a large house with kids and pets and a lazy dad? ↗
“Some observations: A number of robots advertise a headlight of sorts for night cleaning. I would recommend one of these. Other models advertise that they don't need visible light, but I would be skeptical. Obstacle avoidance tends to be a feature where you get what you pay for. Dreame, Narwal, and Eufy seem to have better obstacle avoidance than other brands, though I would still check reviews to be sure. You're almost certainly going to do better with a newer model for longevity than your Roomba. Until last year, iRobot robots were known for poor navigation and poor efficency due to their lack of LIDAR. Any newer robot with some form of LIDAR will almost certainly do better. That said, 4000 square feet is huge. Look for the biggest battery you can find. Averages these days are around 5000 milli-amp-hours (mAh), which for you should be considered a lower bound. Also, you might look at Ecovacs models with their PowerBoost feature; it fast recharges the battery during routine stops for mop washing and the like, which both extends the cleaning time for the first cleaning and reduces the downtime for the inevitable recharge. Pretty much all robots these days have a quiet mode of some kind. Mops have come a long way since your Braava. Many have single flat pads on the rear half of the robot; these are not very good. An exception is Roborock's flat pads that vibrate. Generally, you'll want to stick with either two round-ish spinning pads on the back, or a roller-style mop. (I include robots like the Narwal Flow in this category, with more of a flat track than a round roller.) Each kind has advantages and disadvantages, so you'll want to look closely to see what you prefer. Nearly all self-empty stations will let you ignore the dustbin for at least a month at a time. I've replaced the bag in my Eufy S1 Pro three times since I bought it a year and three months ago. Cleaning the filter and dustbin on the robot is still important, though, so you'll want to check how often the vendor recommends doing that. Note that bagless vacuums are the norm today, but bagless self-empty stations for robots have drawbacks that you should be aware of; since the bag acts as a filter, bagless models need regular filter maintenance on the dock as well as the robot. You mention water hook-ups. A few models from Roborock, Dreame, Eufy, Narwal, and SwitchBot support direct water lines for both filling and emptying. In some cases, the vendor makes special models that support the lines; in others, the vendor sells a water hook-up kit. I would be skeptical of third-party kits, but kits designed by the vendor for the vendor's robots should be fine. Everyone seems to be recommending the robot they like/have. That's fine, but don't let it confuse or overwhelm you. In particular, I wouldn't buy a robot that hasn't been on the market for at least a few months, and that has few to no independent reviews. Most robots have problems when first released, which the influencers and paid reviews won't tell you about.”From thread: What is the best robot - no price limit - for a large house with kids and pets and a lazy dad? ↗
“The ecovacs X11 is decent overall. The dustbin is fairly large at 1.6L, so with a normal amount of dust, it doesn’t need to be emptied very often. The cleaning solution is dispensed automatically based on usage, and the cleaning performance also feels solid.”From thread: What is the best robot - no price limit - for a large house with kids and pets and a lazy dad? ↗
“I just got the Ecovacs T90. first robot vacuum and i'm quite impressed. yes its true that it doesnt vacuum or mop as good as a human, and cant get into all of the tight spots. But i'm really impressed w/ how good it navigates and it's very quite too. it Mapped my house in about 15min and then vacuumed the entire first floor (825ft^2) in about 2hr; never got stuck. went back to the base station a few times to recharge or empty the cannister. it has a quick charge feature which seems to work well, too. i have all hardwood floors with a lot of area rugs and it manages to run up the rugs without getting stuck, even on the corners which are curled up a bit. kitchen is tile. So far i'm quite please with it”From thread: Which of these 7 robot vacuums would you buy? Looking for real-world advice ↗
“Mine just arrived yesterday and I am AMAZED (and kind of obsessed). The obstacle avoidance, cleaning performance (ESPECIALLY under furniture and around edges!!) is incredible. It’s rather talkative though, ha — I might need to play around with some of these settings so it’s not constantly narrating its activities!”From thread: Which of these 7 robot vacuums would you buy? “I just bought this and so far I am super impressed. Mapped the downstairs where it will be used exclusively in a handful of minutes. First robot vac for me, it cleaned and mopped super well, maybe the bar is low from me, as it is my first robot vacuum, but it seemed really smart on obstacle avoidance. The only real question for me, can it last 2-3 years or beyond.”From thread: Which of these 7 robot vacuums would you buy? Looking for real-world advice ↗
“Ecovacs t90 pro omni is hands down THE most flagship feature robot vac on the market right now and it’s 499 on Amazon. I have 2 in my house and an Ecovacs x12 onmicyclone. The x12 has this feature where it pre sprays the stain with water and solution from nozzles at the front, I use this for my hard floors on the main level. The t90 has excellent carpet performance with a tad higher suction, so I have one in my basement, and one upstairs. Edge cleaning on both is excellent, I’d like them to have an extending side spinning brush for corners, but I’ve never actually noticed it missing anything. Plus both those models have live camera view and voice calling to tell pets “no” or “off” or whatever. I used mine to ask my gf to defrost something lol. They also have voice activation through a Siri like “Yiko” which has never not understood me despite my accent. Can’t recommend enough”From thread: Which of these 7 robot vacuums would you buy? “I just recently ordered the Ecovacs N20E Plus due to its high suction power (10,000 pa), cleans itself out with no proprietary bags that pretty much require a subscription, smart mapping, doesn’t cost a month’s rent and has good reviews. Only issue I sometimes have is that it often gets things my kid leaves on the floor stuck inside it but that’s not necessarily the robot’s fault. Overall I’m pretty happy so far.”From thread: What’s the best robot vacuum that’s worth buying right now? ↗

“I've been replacing my robot vacuums every month or so in the past 8 months due to all the issues it faces, trust me, dreame roborock and Eufy are by far the worse with quality control. I am pleased to say that it's been 2 months with my Ecovacs x11 omni cyclone and no major issues or fault yet! 🤞🏼 I dislike the fact that you cannot easily clean the roller mop housing and it needs weekly maintenance. The fucking side brush breaks like there's no tomorrow , thank god for AliExpress but it is definitely some form of design errors, but it's not as bad as others I've had. Otherwise everything else had been great, no more bag replacements too. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 PS: it is much slower at cleaning than most I've owned BUT it cleans well and it has that powerboost charging. ✌🏼”From thread: Robot Vacuums People Actually Like ↗

“I would actually stay away from flagships. They are usually stacked with crazy futuristic tech but in real world scenarios they dont perform any miracles. You only have more things that can break and you might end up turning off most of advanced/AI/whatever things anyway. I feel like those mid-tier robots in real case scenarios perform the best. “Add the L40 to the list. I upgraded a month ago from the L10s and the ONLY thing I need to do is refill/dispose water. The pads still look and smell fresh and the self-cleaning base is amazing. If you want low maintenance, detachable mop pads are crucial. “Did Ecovacs figure out their map/navigation issues? I had an Ecovacs top end model 3 years ago that would clean well, but would constantly get lost going back to its base, and also constantly forget the map of the house and start a new one. The Roborock I got has been so much nicer to live with, it's hard to overstate. I have two robots at home, one that is working flawlessly for the past 5-6 years (Roborock s5 max) and it’s replacement that I bought after reading reviews for a week or so (ecovacs t30 pro). The ecovacs has been a horrible experience, I have it for a little over six months and I just sent it in for repair for the third time. “Stay away from Ecovacs. I have the x12 omnicyclone. Only had it since May and already kicked it out of the house. The roller mop smelled all the time. The technology on the roller mop is not there yet. Had the Eufy with the roller mop before that and same thing. Smelled. I just got a mova v50. Out of the box it didn't work properly. The base would not recognize that a dirty water tank was installed. Just got another one to try today. Went away from the roller mops.”From thread: Just tell me which one to get. ↗
“Technology for robovacs are early stage and none of them can consistently do what marketing and paid reviewers say they do. Paying more than USD 700 for a robot vacuum is ridiculous. Best one was Roborock Q Revo Pro, balanced between performance and budget Brands pay influencers a really high fee and it’s resulted in a massive disconnect between what paid affiliates say vs real users. Calls out vacuum wars (and other paid reviewers) for ranking ecovacs x9 pro number 1 for so long. Calls out the brand and paid affiliates as a scam like practice. Most of the tech (roller mops etc) right now are gimmicky as they cause more human intervention and needs further reiteration. And they charge above 1k for it. People’s expectations are inflated due to reviews and marketing strategies, and most of the models can’t live up to it (without them having defects in the first place) These were the ones I retained (paraphrasing some of the stuff he said, of course)”From thread: Best Robot Vacuum & Mop: What I Wish I Knew Before Buying ↗

“Will be interested to see what people say. We have a Deebot T9+ that’s 4ish years old. Super happy with how much dirt it picks up, how it navigates, and we use the mop function on our hard flooring. It comes with the bin it’s meant to auto empty into and that doesn’t work AT ALL. “I'm testing out the T90 pro currently alongside my eufy omni s1 pro and so far I would say it is a good value for the price but it is also worse in pretty much every regard. It is constantly doing voice narration about its actions, it has to return to the base station frequently (more voice narration), it uses about 3x as much water and takes 50% longer to clean the same area, and the sound of the vacuum running and robot moving are both more annoying and higher pitch. For the level of water usage it requires it needed to have a much bigger water tank in the dock. My eufy dock's water tank only needed to be refilled once every 3 mopping cycles whereas for the T90 pro I have to refill it after every mopping cycle. I haven't been testing it long enough to have any assessment on long term reliability but the eufy omni s1 pro is very unreliable and breaks about every 6 months which is the only reason why I'm looking into other robot vacuums since otherwise it has been excellent.”From thread: Which of these 7 robot vacuums would you buy? “What about a robot for a large footprint home 3400 sq ft. Have tried DEEBOT x11 and x12. Both get lost in the far corners and don’t always map after about 3000 square ft.
