“I can’t believe I’m about to suggest this, but I think Corsair may have a prebuilt in that budget that would be more than capable of delivering the performance you want without having to do all of the customization yourself. IBuyPower is also decent.”

“Honestly I'd look beyond the CPU/GPU specs and check the PSU, motherboard, RAM configuration, and cooling. Some prebuilts look great on paper but cut costs on those parts. I’ve heard good things about companies like NZXT, Corsair, and iBUYPOWER, but I’d still check the exact model rather than judging the brand as a whole. If the parts are mostly standard off-the-shelf components, that’s usually a good sign for future upgrades”

“I bought a “premium” refurbished Corsair a7500 with a 9800x3d and 5700 for $1900. From Walmart. Not a bad deal eh? Problem is, it would never boot the first time, I would have to reset and try a second time.”

“You could easily get the parts for a 5080, 9800x3d, a decent motherboard. Maybe a B650 which is more than enough. Get a 2TB SSD as a minimum for storage and 32GB DDR5 CL32 or CL30. Corsair makes great PSUs and RAM but like the other guy said, anything else from them is a waste. With the case, just make sure that the case fits the GPU length. It should say if it does fit. However. I’d say just buy the main components and let him choose the case and fans as it’ll be his style.”
